There's only so far those parameters can be tweaked before they start looking crazy, so if there's a small The changes that exactly match may indicate copying, depending on the range of useful options available and how far they are changed from the stock settings. If you were to change them to significantly different values, the game would end up looking significantly different. If two people are modifying them with similar goals (in this case making the game look more realistic, they're going to end up making similar modifications. This is not code, these are configuration parameters. As for my opinion on Redux, I tried it out yesterday and it looked awful with the ReShade/ENB configs included in the archive.Įxactly.
It's quite funny that the same people who downvoted this thread, also probably use VisualV if they have graphics mods installed. Redux ripped off specific parts of VisualV and even I'm not stupid enough to not see that. It's not so much about holding a "copyright" to the stolen values, it's more about someone disrespecting your hard work.
People in this thread need to stop acting like sheep.
Sure it's Rockstar's code, but making a nice visual mod takes a tremendous amount of time and it's difficult to edit GTAV's timecyc files as is. You have to look at it from a creators perspective. When you create very specific values for timecycle changes and then see another mod with the same set of values, although slightly altered, you immediately know that it was "stolen" from you. I've noticed that a lot of people in the comments section don't understand why this is frustrating, so allow me to explain. Look at the w_neutral.xml, should I say more?Įt cetera, et cetera. unused in vanilla game, added to VisualV to make a slightly improved vehicle and building reflections, also in Redux. At the first look we see the same sorted parametrs, even with assigned hours, although Redux has a vanilla hours when in VisualV they were changed. Now we’re going to main core of VisualV – weather files, named w_*.xml, e.g. Next – hbaosettings.xml, file used for Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion settings, comparison – vanilla file, VisualV, Redux. NOclouds was copied from VisualV to Redux. Josh grab them and assigned for the weather called CLEAR.Ĭloudkeyframes.xml defines a cloud colors and influence of sun lighting. NOclouds is one of them, set for NEUTRAL weather. VisualV introduced few new types of clouds settings exclusive for this mod, used mostly in sunny weathers.
File defines a weathers, particles attached to them and clouds assignment. Let’s move to the different file – weather.xml. Redux has them enabled too.ĭark.useNormal, parameter unused in vanilla, we added this to enable normal maps for environment which use that type of lights (mostly small spots like light above doors etc.) Think what Redux did. Vanilla game has disabled shadows in Luxor and Swift vehicles, value is 0.0. Their values are 140.00 and 225.00 used in VisualV, Redux has identical values.Īnother parameters - and.
One of the taken parameters is heightReflect.width and heightReflect.height. One of the files is visualsettings, related to various lights settings for the game, motion blur etc.
If you don’t belive – download both mods and compare yourself. Now you’re thinking – am I doing a nonsense indictment just to hate him or something like that? Nope, there strong evidences which I’ll show you right now. What happened with GTA 5 Redux?įor the third time, he ripped off my work, a mod called VisualV. If you don’t remember, I’ll remind it for you – his mods had a parts or even whole files from the other authors without permission, marked as done by Romito. I guess you remember why Miracle of V and Pinnacle of V were removed. Josh Romito didn’t learn a bit from his earlier attempts to mod Rockstar’s blockbuster game. I’m very disappointed of actions of Redux author. Now you have a question – why am I see this? I’m CP, one of the VisualV author, probably well known graphic overhaul for GTAV. When 16th September 2016 appeared, surprisingly website was taken down, giving a trouble to download the mod. Their announcement on gaming sites, promising a change every aspect of game and new experience was hyped a lot of users, waiting for trying this. Not so long ago, one of the biggest mod was released for Grand Theft Auto V, called GTA5 Redux.
